Taxation Rebates

Oceans of Hope Foundation is registered as a Charitable Trust under the NZ charitable Trust act and has been granted 'Donee status' according to New Zealand tax laws.

From 1 April 2008 the following applies:

Individuals

Donors will be able to claim a 33.33% rebate for donations/contributions up to their annual net income. For example if $100 is donated, the rebate claim would be $33.33 or if $1000 is donated, the rebate claim would be $333.33.

Companies

Companies are able to make a deduction for donations liinked to the Company's net income. The 5% limit on deductions has been removed. Such that if a Company makes a donation of $10,000 and its before tax income was $100,000. The Company is now entitled to a tax deduction of $10,000, reducing its net income before tax to $90,000.

Contributors from other countries may find similar in fact superior taxation incentives.
