Promotion
We will be promoting the sailing campaign with the plan to get as much support and awareness as possible in the lead up each race, throughout their duration and also post race. We will be looking to get exposure through the following media channels at a minimum:
eNewsletter
All donors will receive regular eNewsletters, covering boat-build, events and activities up to the first race. During race time entertaining updates and images of experiences during the races will be provided.Community
It is intended that posters will be distributed(available also to interested Donors) for placement in suitable venues e.g. yacht clubs, cafes, cancer societies, cancer wards, schools and doctors’ rooms to promote the sailing campaign and to provide a call to action to visit the website for more information.
Public presentations
Opportunities for Bryan to speak at functions before, during and after each race is completed will be sought.
Magazine/Newspaper
Interviews and coverage will be sought with the following publications.
- Major Metropolitan papers
- Community Newspapers
- Yachting Publications - Boating NZ, Yachting World, Sea Horse, Sailing World
- Global Cancer Society newsletters
Television/Radio
Interviews will be sought from both a general news interest angle and as sports coverage during the races.
Online
An online promotional presence will be sought, including online publications and yachting eNewsletters such as:
- Yacht Club websites and their eNewsletters
- Sail-world.com
- Global yachting eNewsletters
Race Organiser Promotion
The races will receive extensive international media attention, that will be driven by the organising race committees. The events will reach a global audience via the race website and yachting/lifestyle/adventure media. There are also additional promotional vehicles used by the race committees to generate public interest in their races.
